SSP1 Form - Why you cannot get Statutory Sick Pay
This SSP1 form,
issued by the DWP (Department of Welfare and Pensions), is used to tell
an employee why they do not qualify for Statutory Sick Pay.
An employee may not be eligible to receive
SSP if:
- employee's contract of employment has expired
- employee has already received SSP for 28 weeks
- earnings are too low
- employee is aged 65 or over
- employee has had or will soon have a baby
- employee has been sick on and off for 3 years
- employee was off work due to a trade dispute during first day of sickness
- employee is in legal custody or imprisonment
- employee has not started working for employer.
