Further Information

This SAP1 form, issued by HM Inland Revenue & Customs, is used to tell an employee why they do not qualify for Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) during Statutory Adoption Leave.

Features

An employee may not be eligible to receive SAP, and thus an SAP1 will be needed if:

• employee has not been employed for long enough
• employee's earnings are too low
• employee has not given adequate notice
• employee has not provided acceptable evidence of entitlement
• employee was detained in custody on or after the first day of the SAP period
• employee worked (for any employer) during the SAP period
• employee received Statutory Sick Pay.
