Paternity Policy

A paternity policy describes the right of male employees to take paid time off work around the time of the birth of his child.

This paternity policy is suitable for use in England, Wales and Scotland and includes the following clauses:

  • eligibility
  • length of paternity leave
  • paternity pay
  • notification of absence
  • self certificate
  • rights during leave
  • return to work.

As well as the paternity policy this package of documents also includes:

E15 An employer's guide to statutory paternity pay and leave (issued by HM Inland Revenue & Customs).
SPP1 A statutory form used to tell an employee why they do not qualify for statutory paternity pay.
SPP2 A statutory form used by the employer to record details of an employee's statutory paternity pay.
