Following the breakdown of the marriage of model Katie Price (aka Jordan) and Australian pop star Peter Andre, Ms Price has hired top lawyer Fiona Shackleton.
The pair married over three years ago, after meeting on a celebrity television show. Following 3months filming in the USA earlier this year, they split up on returning to the UK. Andre has apparently applied for a decree nisi, and it is said that he will cite unreasonable behaviour as the reason for their separation.
Price is reported to want a "quickie divorce" but presumably not a cheap divorce. Divorce expert Shackleton also represented Paul McCartney, Madonna and Prince Charles in their divorces.
Certainly divorce can be a stressful time, and hiring a lawyer can help. This is especially so if the finances are complex, the relationship is not amicable and children are involved, but is not without cost.
