Maternity Policy

A maternity policy describes the rights of female employees to take maternity leave and to resume employment on return. Maternity leave includes the period of time leading up to the birth of a child and afterwards.

This maternity policy is suitable for use in England, Wales and Scotland and includes the following clauses:

  • maternity pay
  • notification of absence
  • change of leave dates

E15 An employer's guide to statutory maternity pay and leave (issued by HM Inland Revenue & Customs)
SMP1 A statutory form used to tell an employee why they do not qualify for statutory maternity pay.
