Limited companies may also include the names of the directors on their invoices if they wish.

A sole trader must have the following information on invoices:

  • any business name being used if the surname of the sole trader is not being used
  • an address where any legal documents can be delivered.

If you are registered for VAT you must also put your VAT registration number on your invoices regardless of whether you are a sole trader or a limited company.
