Divorce, Marriage and Relationship Forms
This section contains a range of standard
legal documents that cover a range of relationship situations including:
Living Together
If you are thinking of living with your partner as an unmarried couple
then you may wish to draw up a Cohabitation Agreement to establish the financial terms
of your relationship.
Civil Partnerships
If you are planning on entering into a civil
partnership with your same-sex partner then you may wish to draw
up a Pre-Civil Partnership Agreement to outline how you would like
assets to be divided should your relationship break down some
time in the future.
Marriage
If you are planning to marry then you may wish to draw
up a Prenuptial (or Premarital) Agreement to outline how you would like
assets to be divided should the marriage break down some time in the future.
Separation
If having married, you and your spouse now wish to separate,
you may find a Separation
Agreement useful to record any financial arrangements you
have agreed as a result of your decision to separate.
Divorce
If having married, you now seek a divorce,
then you may find our divorce section useful. The divorce process
can be more complicated than many people might imagine. This is
particularly the case where there are disputes over care of children
and division of assets or future income. In some circumstances a
simple divorce may be possible using standard forms and by following
the procedure as prescribed by the court. We offer the necessary
forms and guidance notes.
The English and Scottish courts have different
divorce procedures. If you would like more information about the
process and the forms you will need for a simple divorce please
choose either Divorce
(England and Wales) or Divorce
(Scotland) (depending on where you live).
Parental Responsibility Rights
If you are the unmarried father of a child
and do not have Parental Responsibility rights, or not sure whether you do or not, then you may find
our section on Parental Responsibility useful. We provide information
about who can obtain such rights, how to apply and a free copy of
the necessary form.
Change of Name
If you wish to change your name (perhaps as
the result of divorce or re-marriage) or the name of any children
for which you are a legal guardian then you may wish to record the
change of name by Deed Poll. We offer Change
of Name Deed documents suitable for use by UK residents.
