Disciplinary Procedure
This package of documents contains a Disciplinary
and Dismissal Procedure document along with supporting template
letters. The Disciplinary and Dismissal Procedure sets out a basic
disciplinary procedure to be adhered to by employees and lists various
disciplinary offences and how they will be dealt with. It is particularly
useful to have such a procedure in place since it sets clear expectation
of the measures that can be imposed. This will promote fair and
reasonable behaviour from both management and staff.
The Disciplinary and Dismissal Procedure is
suitable for use in England, Wales and Scotland and covers the following:
- purpose of procedure
- informal action
- formal action
- disciplinary meetings
- written warnings
- handling delays
- definition of general and gross misconduct
- standard statutory 3-step procedure
- modified 2-step procedure
- when procedures do not apply.
In addition to the Disciplinary Procedure
document, this package also includes the following template letters
which form part of the disciplinary and dismissal process:
- Decision of Disciplinary Meeting
- Notice of Appeal Against Dismissal or Disciplinary Action
- Notice of Appeal Against Warning
- Notice of Disciplinary Meeting
