Allotment Tenancy Agreement
This is an ordinary agreement between a private
landlord and an individual tenant for the lease of an allotment
and is not made under any statutory power (i.e. not subject to the
strict rules regarding repair, insurance, length of lease etc. required of agricultural tenancies
made under the Agricultural Tenancies Act or the Agricultural Holdings
(Scotland) Act 1991).
The allotment is let on a yearly basis and
the rent is payable twice-yearly. The allotment may
not be used for the purpose of any trade or business and the tenant
is not permitted to keep any animals on the allotment other than hens
or rabbits.
This Allotment Tenancy Agreement is suitable for use in England, Wales and Scotland and
contains the following clauses:
